- Electrical Combination Inspector $36.15- $54.23

- Understand all state and local building codes and regulations pertaining to the building and construction.
- Inspect all buildings under construction ensuring compliance with all adopted building codes.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with other employees, building owners, tradesmen, contractors and the public.
- Complete plan reviews on residential and commercial plans as assigned.
- Work independently on field inspections and plan reviews making decisions utilizing technical judgement.
- Consults with a technical superior on more difficult and unusual cases.
- Submits work to periodic checks and reviews by a technical superior.
- Prepares and maintains necessary records and reports
- Inspects new and existing residential, commercial and industrial installations and equipment for compliance with applicable state and local codes and ordinances.
- Issues correction notices where installations are found to be in violation of applicable codes and ordinances.
- Make recommendations on correct methods of installation and construction.
- May review submitted plans and specifications for compliance with applicable state and local codes and ordinances.
- Coordinates with contractors regarding the design of new residential or commercial buildings as well as the alteration of existing residential and commercial buildings within the Town.
- Possesses a valid driver’s license and operates a Town motor vehicle in a safe and responsible manner.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
- Must be able to operate tape measures, levels, computer, mobile tablet, calculator, telephone (office and cellular), light ladders, small hand tools, office equipment, radios, boots, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and light-duty pick-up truck or SUV.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING - Graduation from high school or GED.
- Possess International Code Council certifications in residential and commercial inspections.
- Colorado State Journeyman or Master Electrician’s License is required for Electrical Combination Inspector
- Possession of a valid driver's license and a safe driving record prior to start of employment.
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subjected to constant standing and walking on uneven terrain in various conditions to perform inspections; constant squatting, bending and kneeling to perform inspections at various sites. The employee must be able to frequently sit to write reports and drive to and from inspection sites, frequent twisting to inspect site structure and electrical wiring. Any employee in this position is subjected to occasional crawling to inspect multi-level structures; occasional climbing and balancing on ladders, stairs, framing and step ladders at unprotected heights to look for structural hazards; occasionally reaching overhead and below shoulder to manipulate tools. Frequent stepping up/down to get in and out of vehicles, trenches and foundations; frequent actuate mechanism needed to safely operate vehicles. Employees are subjected to frequent use of far acuity to detect hazards; constant use of near acuity to write reports and perform offices tasks. Occasionally, employees are required to lift or carry burdens of up to thirty (30) pounds 100 feet to move ladders from vehicles to inspection site; occasionally pushing/pulling of up to twenty (20) pounds to open garage doors and overhead doors. Work is frequently performed indoors and outdoors occasionally under extreme temperatures. Frequent hearing is needed to provide a high level of communication and customer service to contractors through spoken word in a noisy construction environment.
