This position supports the goals of the Town by providing exceptional customer service in support of a variety of potential municipal functions including Administration, Community & Economic Development, the Town Clerk’s Office, Public Works, Utility Billing, and Finance.

JOB SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant On-Call pool position is classified as temporary, non-benefitted. This position performs customer service-focused administrative work while filling in for full-time employees in various Town departments while they are out of the office (i.e., vacation, sick leave, medical or family leave), and may help with special projects as they arise. Because Administrative Assistant On-Call employees primarily cover the absences of full-time administrative staff, the available hours vary from month to month and are largely dependent on the need for coverage; as such, there is no guaranteed or dedicated number of hours per month.

Instructions are received at the beginning of work and on new assignments, but regular routine assignments may be performed more independently as experience is gained. Work is performed under supervision and requires discretion, initiative, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and is usually reviewed for content and accuracy upon completion. Candidates will be considered after successful completion of all pre-employment screening including a background check and drug screening. Administrative Assistant On-Call employees may be hired under a different title and salary range depending upon the requirements of the temporary assignment.

Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way.
